Sgorga dalle montagne dell'mwfgAtlante mwfwsahariano, presso la città di mwgaAflou, scorre attraverso l'mwgqAtlante Telliano e sfocia nel mwggmar Mediterraneo, a nord della città di mwgwMostaganem.
Il livello delle sue acque è incostante e, nella parte finale del suo corso, viene assai sfruttato a fini irrigativi mwhqagricoli.
